Kafka in Tel Aviv
- 2:00 pm
- Salem State University Callan Studio Theatre (352 Lafayette Street)
- A locked apartment door on a shadowy corner in downtown Tel Aviv. American blogger Nina Stern, obsessed with the writings of Franz Kafka, has traveled 6000 miles from New York to Tel Aviv to view the manuscripts. Through a bizarre series of events Kafka could never imagine, his papers land in the hands of a Tel Aviva cat-lady who won’t let anyone in. Meanwhile Israel and Germany are locked in a political battle over who owns these priceless lost works. Who owns a work of art, the creator or the viewer? This multi-layered new work promises to be a visually rich production featuring original puppet design by Professor Jane Hillier-Walkowiak. $15 general/$10 students and seniors. Free with Salem State student ID.
