Perceptions – How You See It: Photography of Bill Kelley
March 23 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Visit the Kensington-Stobart Gallery at the Hawthorne Hotel to view the exhibit and enjoy the artist’s reception for Perceptions-How You See It- Photography of Bill Kelley.
According to Kelley, “Visual representation of a concept relies heavily on the ability to perceive, who requires a complex use of the senses. This perception becomes, through experience, an informed awareness. This informed awareness enriches the imagination and frees the artist to go beyond the surface to rev more than is normally visible–to perceive nuances, subtleties and ambiguities in everyday life. Art metaphorical and black and white photography is unique in its ability to capture the real-but-not- real.”
Kelley’s collection of black and white photographs will be on display at the gallery from March 23 – April 30, 2017.
Kelley’s photographs provoke an intimate feeling of a highly personal sensitivity to everyday experiences. His photography performs the task of intensifying and re-clarifying experiences of the actuality and the arranged festivals of the here and now. A resident of Salem, Bill Kelley holds an MFA and has been a free-lance editorial, corporate photographer for many years. His work has been published in numerous regional and national publications. Kelley’s work has been exhibited nationally as well as internationally, including the Centre International D’A Comtemporain, Paris, France.
