Salem Dance Ensemble presents “The Other Side of the Crowd

The Salem Dance Ensemble presents its end of semester concert, “The Other Side of the Crowd”. Performances will take place in the new Sophia Gordon Center for Creative and Performing Arts on Saturday, December 16 at 7:30 pm and Sunday, December 17 at 2 pm.
The evening will include original choreography by faculty and students as well as a new work, “YES INDEED!” by world-renowned choreographer and dancer Bill Evans. It will feature students Samantha Aucello, Cameron Decas, Amanda Drogani and Micaela Plankey. Evans has been working with the Salem State dance department students since the start of the fall semester as an artist-in-residence.
Bill Evans is a Guggenheim Fellowship recipient who founded his Bill Evans Dance Company in 1975. He is noted for the creation of a modern dance technique that has influenced hundreds of dance teachers and dancers around the world for more than 30 years.
